Lin-Manuel Miranda Will Star in “Hamilton” Again – In Puerto Rico
November 11, 2017
“Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will star once again in his smash hit Broadway show in Puerto Rico.
Miranda, whose parents were both born and raised in Puerto Rico, will take the show to the University of Puerto Rico’s Teatro UPR January 8-27, 2019, according to reports.
No doubt a dream come true for the Boricua Miranda to perform his show on the island, he also has been involved with raising money for Hurricane Maria relief efforts. Through the Hispanic Federation, over $2 million has been raised for relief efforts, spearheaded in part by download money generated by Miranda’s “Almost Like Praying:”
If his work providing school kids Hamilton tickets in New York is any indication, Miranda will aim to give Puerto Ricans on the island as many chances as possible to see this smash musical. Still, this exciting run will be a hot ticket. No word yet on when tickets will go on sale to the public.
