Sunday, July 9 at 2pm-9pm: Festival Orgullo Colombiano at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, N.Y. | Free
You don’t have to be Colombian to enjoy this festival celebrating Colombian Independence. The country’s best artists like Orquesta Guayacán perform live. Plus, you can consume the food and check out the arts and crafts available from the festival vendors all day.
Thursday, July 13 at 6pm: Judy Torres and Cynthia at Queensbridge Park, Queens, N.Y. | Free
Freestyle is free in Queens this summer! The heart-tugging, dance-ready music of the 80s takes center stage with this concert featuring Judy Torres and Cynthia. This jam starts up right around dinner time. Not a bad way to finish off the work day.
Friday, July 14 at 7pm: Mr. Cheeks and Large Professor at Queensbridge Park, Queens, N.Y. | Free
A night after freestyle takes the stage, Queens hip hop fans can take in local legend Mr. Cheeks and Large professor at a park synonymous with the genre. No doubt you will rock to “Lights, Camera, Action”,some Main Source and Lost Boyz jams – and enjoy a dope Friday night.
Tuesday, September 26 at 7pm: Chance The Rapper at Forest Hills Stadium, Flushing, N.Y. | Buy Tickets
Ok, this technically takes place in the fall but this is your “Chance” to see the BET Awards winner and chart-topping hip hop artist in the outer borough. Tickets to this show are general admission so fans can take their seats on a first-come, first-serve basis. Can’t beat that!
