Dahday’s Five Favorite Natalie Cole Live Clips

January 1, 2016

The New Year is a little less sweet with the news that the unforgettable Natalie Cole has passed.

Cole, the daughter of the late great Nat King Cole, had health issues recently and had to postpone November and December tour dates leading up to her untimely death. She was 65 years old.

In her memory, we have selected five of our favorites live clips.

Her first hits came in the mid-1970s, including maybe her most memorable solo hit “This Will Be (Everlasting Love):”

After her early successes, she fell out of fame and battled drug abuse. But in the 1990s, she experienced a resurgence. While back on the pop charts, she performed in this concert celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 70th birthday. Here she sings “Pink Cadillac:”

Of course, she will be best remembered for “Unforgettable,” her virtual duet with her father, Nat. The song won multiple Grammy Awards in 1991 and propelled her to perform this unlikely pop hit live at The Grammys:

Ever since her “Unforgettable” hit, Cole toured successfully and made frequent stops to the area. This is Cole performing in Englewood, New Jersey in 2014:

Finally, here is a clip of a recent 2015 live performance, getting introduced by actress Reneé Zellwenger.

Let her make you “Smile” one more time:
