Ringling Bros. Circus Is Coming To Town – For The Last Time With Elephants
February 28, 2016
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presents Legends this week in Brooklyn and next week in Newark, N.J. – the last with elephants as part of The Greatest Show on Earth.
As announced in January, the circus promoter is to retire the elephants to the company’s refuge in Florida. Long a source of protest from animal rights groups, the company reports the decision came more from the current cost of housing and transporting the elephants than the long protests.
The circus is taking center stage at Barclays Center through March 6 and will move to Prudential Center March 9 to 13. If you want a discount for selected shows at either arena, click here and sign up for Dahday’s email list.
Otherwise, Ringling Bros. shows without elephants will come through the area in 2017 from late February through early to mid-March. Also, circuses like Big Apple Circus do not use elephants in its show.
